When one of my co-workers and I discovered we were both a bit crafty the idea of a swap was touted about. Jo does these amazing Bratz doll re-do’s under the moniker Kiwi Girlz, stripping the clownish over-painted faces, removing the trashy clothing, and tossing the high high heels in favour of a 1950s style dress and sweet fimo boots. After looking at a couple of photo’s of Mia she designed a doll based on her appearance, sourcing one with coloured skin and re-painting the face with beautiful blue eyes to look like Mia, she’s done just the most beautiful job. Her work is absolutely gorgeous, right down to the stunning stitch-work on the dress which is all hand sewn, when Mia first laid her eyes on it she exclaimed Oh wow, it’s so beautiful. You can check the Kiwi Girlz Etsy shop here.
After picking a zip wallet for herself from my shop, Jo asked if I could maybe make a bag for her 2 year old, who is constantly whisking off with bags from Jo’s wardrobe. After spending some time mulling over ideas I came up with the idea of making a patchwork bag, which gave me the opportunity to include lots of bright colours and patterns, perfect for a wee one I think!
