I have a new project brewing, and I’m very excited about it as it feels like it’s time for something new and fresh, and time for a bit of a blog and creative shake up. I visited with a friend today to work on and discuss this idea in progress, and to bash some ideas around while drinking lots of tea (as you should). Natalie has lots of wonderful and creative ideas, and has been working on some very inspiring pieces as well. I always find it such a breath of fresh air to spend time with other creative minds – you can feel so isolated working at home in your studio alone, and it’s good to be reminded that you are not alone.
As I walked up to her home I was stopped in my tracks by a gorgeous array of tiny white flowers growing on the bank by the road – they were almost insignificant enough to easily go without being noticed, but they made me stop and smile. It’s so very wintry and gray here at the moment, little floral blooms feel like an utter luxury. As I left later on I looked out on to Dunedin, from a view completely different from one I am used to experiencing, and marvelled at how beautiful it is. Isn’t it funny how sometimes it just takes a slightly different outlook to change your entire way of seeing something.
