bursts of colour

We have now had the shortest day, and winter has a firm grip on the landscape and the temperatures. There have been some really terrible storms running up New Zealand causing quite some havoc, though luckily the storm pretty much bypassed Dunedin, bringing only lots of rain and quite a few land slips. I have been hunkering down inside preparing for the Midwinter Arts Bazaar this Saturday, and have spent the past day and a bit making some new Coffee Cosies using some of the gorgeous bright vintage fabrics I have stashed away. When the sky is gray, and you are wearing an extra layer or two of clothing while clutching your warm cuppa, it really is lovely to cast your eye over a burst of colour. I have sold two of these Cosies from my shop in the past week or so, so I guess I am not alone in needing my second cup of coffee to be hot!
