Harbour Cone sits straight across the water from us, a striking and imposing part of our view. Up a small dirt road just past Broad Bay is the entrance to The Bacon Track. Across privately owned farm land we trekked through bog, manuka forests, an old crumbled down stone house, across velvety fields, up steep inclines, over those boulders that are scattered across the Otago hills, and finally to the top of Harbour Cone. The view is beyond spectacular, we stopped constantly along the way to just look around, and each time we would utter “oh wow”. For the entire walk there was not a word of complaint from either of the kids, in fact Reuben raced ahead beating us to the top by rather a lot, whereas Mia skipped, danced, and sang her way through most of it. We’ll all sleep well tonight!

little minx on Instagramsecond to last day of Mia’s school camp - The Mud Run. Yep, this is what we do with kids inOtago when it’s 10 degrees and 6 o’clock at night in autumn 🍂This was incredible fun - laughter, screaming and yelling, mud, freezing streams, and press ups on cold grass. This entire week at Mia’s school camp has been an amazing experience, I am so pleased she talked me into going 💃🏻😊
