Industrial & Utility

Living in Port Chalmers you get an intriguing mix of very old homes, shops, pubs, and churches, all of which live right next to Utility and Industrial buildings. It’s an aspect of living near a Port that I rather like. Most of today was spent in my work room cutting, getting an order prepared for a new stockist, which is something that makes me go a little cross eyed after a while, so I decided to take a short sojourn with my camera. One thing that can easily happen with trying to run a business from home is too much time at home! Especially after a week of sick kids in the house too. I found some rather wonderful things – it’s always surprising what you see when you set out on foot, just the change in aspect from looking from a car, and the chance to look around slowly, makes all sorts of things appear different.
