Mia has only 5 weeks now till she turns 5 years old and is off to school, a fact that is making me feel a little saddened as it is a true ending to the way things currently are. I am spending a lot of time wondering where the time has gone, and wishing I had somehow slowed it all down just a bit. Life just gets busy, that’s the way it is. You couldn’t find a more excited little girl at the prospect of school, so clearly any sadness is to belong only to me. Mondays are our Mama & Mia day, so today I made her and Reuben an owl each to cuddle. They seem to really like them – though only in our household (thanks to having an older brother) can you hear a mother say “they are NOT battle-owls”

Thanks to everyone who entered my Facebook giveaway – and congratulations to Krissy who my sweet little nearly-five-year-old drew from the bowl this afternoon.

The owls are adorable! I love that you had to tell them they are not battle owls. Too funny!
The years with our kids fly by, so you just have to try to enjoy as many of the little moments as you can. It’s great that Mia is excited about starting school and it will be a great experience for her. It’s natural to feel sad about your kids growing up.

Mia looks so sweet in red. Love those candy stripes!! The owls are divine. I’m with you on the Mama sadness. It’s kind of a lost feeling. Hopefully Mia loves school as much as Eloise seems to!!
