Toot Toot

After spending two hours in Reubens room yesterday trying to find the floor, Reuben has finally decided that it is okay for Mia to have his wooden Thomas The Tank Engine train set. It’s an amazing set – one Reuben has spent many many hours building with, and one he has held on to fiercely even though he no longer plays with it. We’ve never pushed him to share this particular toy as it has always been precious to him, so I am very impressed that he is now sharing it.  I have so many memories of him as a 3, 4, 5, 6 year old, playing on the tile floors in our house in Australia, laying out complicated tracks and humming away to himself contentedly. Simon and I probably have as many memories of trying to avoid tripping over or standing on his train tracks in the middle of the night as they invariably took up at least a couple of metres of the floor, often snaking around chairs and under tables.
