A little bit of Irish

Yesterday was St Patricks Day, I made these shamrocks out of green felt and ribbon and explained St Patrick and the significance of the Shamrock to Reuben. To help the pagan Irish to get a handle on christianity St Patrick used a four leaf clover to explain the father, the son, and the holy ghost. He also put a circle on the cross to represent the sun so that the Irish would identify with it more easily, and this is the celtic cross as we know it.

There is an immense fog hanging over the harbour today, it fills it like its been stuffed with cotton wool. If you couldn’t see water you would think you were flying in the clouds.

My Grandfather turns 95 in two days – how amazing. He still lives at his own home with minimal outside help. If you asked what his secret to long life is he would probably say “porridge”.
