Last year, in an effort to rein in my teetering pile of fabric, I bought a horrid 1970′s drinks sideboard from the Op Shop. This thing is hideous – resplendent in fake, dark-stained pine chip, and gothic/swedish styled handles, with a pull forward drinks cupboard and sliding glass doors for the top shelves. It sat in the hall for a bit and tripped us up every now and then, but eventually I attacked it with glue, a roll of Anaglypta wallpaper, and a Map Book or two also found at the Op Shop, and transformed it into something a little more interesting. I’m really pleased with how it looks, plus the kids come in with geographical questions such as “where’s Madagascar?” and we can locate it on the cupboard. The result is this…

NICE! I love a good make-over; the maps are such a great idea
