Today is a very odd summers day – there is a big cloud hanging over the South Island and, compared to yesterdays gorgeous 23 degrees, we have gray and rain. The boys headed to the movies to see a film Mia and I saw last week, leaving the girls at home to read, fill out Birthdays on this years Calender from Nana & Grandad, and build a fort over the kitchen table. Such wintry activities! For a while the rain cleared and Mia and I took advantage of this respite taking Max out for a walk. Up to the Lookout and then down to Back Beach to pull up rocks in our search for crabs, and to throw sticks in the water for Max. Such summery activities! It is drizzly again now, with drops clinging to the windows and a gray haze over the harbour. We did collect an impressive bunch of roadside flowers however, and they certainly brighten our home – let’s hope the sunshine is back again tomorrow.
